More progressive than ours

My sister and I went to another Asian country and we were struck by how similar the country is to ours. The people, the streets, the custom… What we just noticed is that that country is more progressive than ours simply because the people there follow traffic rules. Yes, there were traffic jams on the main roads but drivers follow rules so there’s no need for traffic enforcers to be present. I’ve only seen some on the way to the airport.

I think discipline says a lot in the progress of a nation. That Asian country, if majority of their citizens can only speak English like us, will surely be up there with the Tigers in Asian economy. That is the only thing they lack in my observation. It’s just too bad that most of them can’t understand even simple English terms. My sister was looking for cheap custom t-shirts that we could buy for souvenirs. We were directed elsewhere because the vendors we asked didn’t understand us.

But English proficiency aside, that country will make us eat dust once their leaders would open their minds to accept more changes in their custom. Tourism is already booming. Infrastructure is the same. I’ve heard that the younger generation is already taking up English classes in school. More progress, I tell you.
